What real software has that this does not (yet)

The simulator keeps the fundamentals and leaves out features that would hide them. Expect these in real tools.

  • Variable valve timing: cam phasing tables that change the VE surface with cam angle. Core in OEM tuning; omitted here so VE stays a single surface.
  • Dead time vs battery voltage: a 2D injector latency table. Voltage is constant on a dyno, so it is a scalar here.
  • Flex-fuel: an ethanol content sensor blending between gasoline and E85 tables. Here E85 is a fixed blend with one stoich setting.
  • Boost compensations: real ECUs trim the boost target against intake air temperature, gear and coolant temperature. Here closed-loop boost exists (Scalars → Boost control) but the target is rpm-only, so a cold day has to be handled in the table.
  • Acceleration enrichment, closed-loop O₂ trims, per-cylinder trims, cold start, idle control, transient fuel film — all real, all deliberately left out.
Now try it.

The app keeps this page beside the dyno: read it, then try it on a virtual car. Free, in the browser, no account.
